What you will do

• Review incoming orders and cut sheets to determine the initial machining steps.
• Prepare materials for testing or refined cuts using saws, and assist with manual mills and lathes.
• Review specimen numbers, determine disposal methods, and sort excess material.
• Perform general machine maintenance and report repair needs that cannot be handled internally.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment while supporting laboratory operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Competence with scales and other simple measuring tools.
• Ability to use saws, mills, lathes, and hand tools.
• Ability to read, see, hear, and speak English.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods and lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, with assistance for larger loads.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR requirements.

• Work is performed with required personal protective equipment, including gloves and safety glasses.
• Steel-toed boots are preferred.
• First shift: 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; second shift: 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
• Must be willing to work both shifts with proper notice and outside core operating hours when requested.
