Senior Enterprise Architect (EU Data & Interoperability)

What you will do

• Define, maintain, and evolve the functional and technical architecture of Simpl-Open, including components, data flows, interfaces, and deployment models.
• Govern architectural consistency, standards, design decisions, and lifecycle management across the programme.
• Align solutions with European interoperability frameworks and standards, including CIM, SAREF, AS4, EIRA, and eGovERA.
• Support integration with DOME, GAIA-X, EuroHPC, AI Factories, and other European initiatives.
• Embed Security-by-Design and Privacy-by-Design principles while addressing GDPR, eIDAS, the Data Act, NIS2, and cybersecurity requirements.
• Guide technical and delivery teams, facilitate architecture workshops, and communicate decisions and roadmaps to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or a comparable technical leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of federated architectures, data spaces, cloud-to-edge environments, and interoperability principles.
• Experience with TOGAF, ArchiMate, BPMN, multi-cloud platforms, container orchestration, and API-driven integration.
• Experience with Agile delivery, DevSecOps, CI/CD, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Professional working proficiency in English is required.
• Eligibility to obtain required EU or Belgian security clearance may be necessary.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of European interoperability frameworks, open standards, or open-source ecosystems.
• French or Dutch language knowledge.
• TOGAF, ArchiMate, cloud architecture, ISO 27001, or CISSP certifications.
