TL;DR
Sr. Staff Site Reliability Engineer-Federal, Security Clearance (Cloud Security/AI): Managing deployments, incidents, infrastructure, and monitoring for products operating in US Government classified environments with an accent on AWS, private clouds, containers, Kubernetes, and security compliance. Focus on automating operations with Python, Ansible, and Terraform, maintaining air-gapped environments, and solving complex reliability challenges across multitenant cloud infrastructure.

Location: Fully onsite in Crystal City, Virginia, USA. The role operates in US Government classified environments and requires an active US Government Secret security clearance.

Base pay range: $164,000–$205,000 USD annually, excluding bonus, equity, commissions, and benefits.

What you will do

  • Manage deployments, on-call duties, incident response, and operational tasks for products in classified government environments.
  • Operate AWS, private cloud infrastructure, containers, virtual machines, and multitenant services to maintain stability and scalability.
  • Develop Python scripts, containerized services, and monitoring mechanisms to automate operations and reduce service disruption.
  • Build and enhance services in classified environments while improving DevOps practices through documentation and escalation management.

Requirements

  • Active US Government Secret security clearance required and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and 7+ years of Site Reliability Engineering experience across Operations and Engineering environments.
  • Proficiency in Linux administration, network troubleshooting, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Strong Python skills and experience with container-based architectures, including AWS ECS and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning, patch management, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience using, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions.

Nice to have

  • Experience with AI-driven observability and AIOps for predictive anomaly detection and automated incident response.
  • Experience managing air-gapped and classified environments and monthly monitoring programs.
  • Familiarity with High or Moderate FedRAMP authorization levels and compliance requirements.
  • Information Assurance Technician Level 2 certification or Top Secret security clearance.
