Associate Medical Director, Medical & Scientific Communications

Location: Remote within the United States; residence in the country where the role is posted is required. Travel is required for client meetings, advisory boards, congresses, and on-site program support as needed.

Annual base pay: $109,400–$304,900, with potential incentive plans, bonuses, and additional benefits.

What you will do

• Provide strategic scientific leadership across client accounts, therapeutic areas, and organizational initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop Medical Directors, Scientific Directors, and medical writers.
• Advise clients and shape medical communication strategies around business and stakeholder needs.
• Oversee product launches, advisory boards, speaker development, congress activities, publications, medical education, and strategic planning engagements.
• Partner with account management, engagement strategy, project management, editorial, and creative teams to deliver client programs.
• Support operational excellence, business growth, talent acquisition, succession planning, and external client engagements.

Requirements

• PhD, PharmD, MD, or an equivalent advanced scientific degree.
• At least 7 years of experience in medical affairs, medical communications, the pharmaceutical industry, or a related healthcare environment.
• Experience leading and developing scientific teams in a fast-paced, client-focused organization.
• Ability to oversee multiple complex projects and scientific portfolios while maintaining high quality standards.
• Strong client management, stakeholder engagement, cross-functional leadership, business acumen, and problem-solving skills.
• Must reside in the United States to be eligible for this remote role.
