Director, US & Global Medical Review (Biopharma)

Location: Fully remote; can be performed from anywhere. Occasional domestic and international travel of approximately 10%–20% is expected.

Salary: $185,000–$252,500 annual.

What you will do

• Lead medical and scientific review of US and global promotional, commercial, medical, digital, congress, patient education, and field medical materials.
• Evaluate statistical validity, levels of evidence, efficacy and safety claims, clinical relevance, and alignment with standards of care.
• Serve as lead medical reviewer on the Medical Review Committee and Commercial Review Committee.
• Apply FDA regulations and EFPIA and ABPI industry codes to ensure fair balance, compliant risk-benefit representation, and responsible scientific communication.
• Partner with Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, Commercial, Medical Affairs, brand, and affiliate teams to shape claims strategy and scientific positioning.
• Mentor peers and junior colleagues while strengthening medical review best practices and organizational capability.

Requirements

• Advanced scientific or medical degree such as MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience, including at least 5 years in medical review-related roles.
• Strong knowledge of US and global promotional and non-promotional communication regulations, including FDA, EFPIA, and ABPI requirements.
• Prior experience working with MLR, MRC, or CRC teams.
• Exceptional scientific, analytical, written communication, organizational, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to ethical and compliance standards.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting field medical or MSL functions and developing medical content.
• Experience in respiratory therapeutic areas and rare diseases.
• Proficiency with document management and review systems such as Veeva Vault PromoMats and MedComms.
