What you will do

• Analyze and report adherence to policies for data storage, transmission, retention, and destruction.
• Operate and mature data classification, sensitivity labeling, and data loss prevention tools.
• Validate access permissions, roles, user activity, encryption, and other controls protecting sensitive data.
• Monitor structured data systems and production environments for compliance with security standards.
• Maintain inventories of applications and systems that store or process sensitive data.
• Develop departmental metrics and reports to identify mitigation priorities and improvement opportunities.

Requirements

• College diploma or university degree in computer science, data science, IT management, or a similar discipline, or five years of equivalent work experience.
• Basic understanding of permissions, roles, groups, users, and non-human identities as they relate to sensitive data access.
• Ability to produce technically precise documentation and communicate effectively with leadership, technical, and business audiences.
• Ability to retrieve data from database tables, views, application sources, and other data stores for compliance reporting.
• Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, organization, judgment, and time-management skills.
• Ability to remain calm and competent in high-pressure situations.

Nice to have

• Understanding of data minimization and electronic records management.
• Familiarity with data loss prevention, sensitivity labeling, and record identification tools.
• Understanding of project management principles, including problem statements, use cases, and success criteria.
