Cybersecurity Staff Engineer – Data Protection

What you will do

• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise data protection capabilities, including encryption, DLP, and secure data lifecycle management.
• Drive PKI and certificate management, including certificate rollout and lifecycle automation.
• Develop the TLS 1.3 roadmap through assessment, compatibility analysis, dependency mapping, and migration planning.
• Integrate Zscaler DLP and other data protection tools with corporate workflows in collaboration with architects and security engineers.
• Partner with legal, accounting, and compliance teams on document retention and secure destruction policies.
• Lead concurrent data protection projects, provide technical mentorship, document operational processes, and contribute to long-term program strategy.

Requirements

• 8+ years of cybersecurity experience, including at least 5 years in data protection or information security engineering.
• Hands-on expertise in PKI, certificate management, TLS/SSL, and encryption technologies.
• Experience with DLP tools such as Zscaler, Forcepoint, Trellix, Symantec, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of document retention, secure destruction, legal and compliance policy integration, and IoT remediation.
• Understanding of HIPAA, PCI, SOX, enterprise compliance frameworks, risk assessment, and security governance.
• Comfort working in a hybrid environment; bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Purview and Zscaler DLP.
• Master's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, or GSE certification.
