Programme Manager - Energy and Electrical Vehicle Infrastructure (Renewable Energy and EVI)

What you will do

• Lead the development and delivery of solar PV, battery energy storage system, and electric vehicle infrastructure programmes across Bristol City Leap’s portfolio.
• Build and maintain a prioritised pipeline of financially viable, investable, and deliverable renewable energy and EVI opportunities.
• Develop programme strategies, roadmaps, financial models, business cases, investment proposals, and governance documentation.
• Coordinate project development from feasibility and options appraisal through approvals, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational handover.
• Oversee budgets, forecasts, risks, dependencies, benefits, performance reporting, grid connections, planning, and landlord approvals.
• Recruit, manage, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team while engaging clients, senior stakeholders, contractors, suppliers, and delivery partners.

Requirements

• Significant experience delivering complex renewable energy, electrical infrastructure, EVI, energy, or construction programmes.
• Strong understanding of solar PV, BESS, and EVI project development, including technical feasibility, grid connections, planning, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations.
• Demonstrable experience developing financial models, project business cases, investment proposals, and programme governance documentation.
• Experience managing projects across the full development lifecycle, from opportunity identification and feasibility to construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Knowledge of programme governance, assurance, procurement, contracting, construction, planning, grid connection, and regulatory requirements.
• Legal eligibility to work in the UK is required; successful applicants will undergo a DBS check.

Nice to have

• Experience working with public sector organisations or large commercial corporate estate owners.
• Relevant professional experience in programme management, renewable energy, electrical infrastructure, engineering, construction, finance, or commercial management.
