IT Security Specialist (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Administer and optimize security platforms, including EDR, SIEM, IAM, web filtering, network threat prevention, MDM, and endpoint protection tools.
• Monitor security dashboards, alerts, and threat intelligence feeds; triage and respond to incidents.
• Manage endpoint security, email security, identity and access controls, privileged access, passwords, VPN infrastructure, firewalls, and network security appliances.
• Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, security audits, and penetration-testing coordination.
• Maintain security policies and incident response procedures while supporting LGPD and GDPR compliance.
• Review vendor security, validate cloud backups, support SaaS security, and coordinate secure onboarding and offboarding.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in IT security, information assurance, or a related role.
• Experience administering MDM, EDR, SIEM, endpoint management, and identity management platforms.
• Understanding of security frameworks, threat prevention, incident response, data protection regulations, and vulnerability management.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills required.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities across time zones, and collaborate with distributed international teams.

Nice to have

• CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with conditional access, data loss prevention, threat protection, cloud security, and major cloud platforms.
• Experience with Zero Trust architecture and identity-based access controls.
• Experience in international nonprofit or research organizations.
• Portuguese language skills, especially for Brazil-based candidates.
