Disaster Recovery Engineer

What you will do

• Support risk assessments, business impact analyses, and identification of critical IT systems and processes.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain disaster recovery plans, emergency procedures, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with data backup and restoration, system recovery, infrastructure continuity, and recovery time and point objective monitoring.
• Test and validate recovery plans, identify improvements, and enhance system recoverability with IT teams.
• Support employee readiness, third-party provider evaluation, and incident response during crisis situations.
• Track industry developments, emerging technologies, compliance requirements, and recommendations for program improvements.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in disaster recovery or business continuity planning.
• Fluent English in written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery methodologies, technologies, and industry standards.
• Experience or understanding of data recovery, storage solutions, IT infrastructure, networks, operating systems, databases, and cloud platforms.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize work.
• Availability to respond to emergencies outside regular working hours when necessary.

Nice to have

• Relevant certifications or coursework.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, ISO 27001, ISO 22301, or ISO 27031.
• Experience supporting disaster recovery and crisis management events.
