Interim IT Risk & Cyber Controls Consultant (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote within the United States; listed office location: Nashville, Tennessee. Travel as needed.

What you will do

• Manage IT internal audit, IT SOX, risk, and consulting engagements from planning through fieldwork, reporting, and closeout.
• Document and test application, automated, and general IT controls across diverse technology and ERP environments.
• Identify technology and data risks, assess their impact and likelihood, and recommend control and process improvements.
• Prepare audit reports, proposals, presentations, budgets, billings, and engagement plans.
• Lead client communications, serve as the primary contact, and present findings to management and audit committees.
• Review staff work and mentor junior professionals when assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; accounting or computer information systems preferred.
• Six or more years of experience in IT SOX, IT internal audit, consulting, or risk services within a public accounting or corporate environment.
• Required CIA, CISA, CISSP, or equivalent certification.
• Knowledge of IT general controls, internal accounting controls, professional standards, and regulations.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, project management, communication, report-writing, delegation, and client relationship skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment; travel as needed.

Nice to have

• MBA or another relevant advanced degree.
• Two or more years of supervisory experience.
• Experience in public accounting and with PeopleSoft, SAP, Oracle, or other ERP applications.
• Experience with R, Python, AI, or automation tools.
