Staff Embedded Security Engineer (Autonomous Driving)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, USA; hybrid working model with in-person collaboration in offices and remote work.

Salary: $275K–$300K annually, plus equity.

hirify.global is building an AI platform for autonomous driving, using embodied AI to help vehicles learn from real-world experience and adapt across different environments and vehicle platforms.

What you will do

• Design and develop security controls for real-time embedded firmware and embedded Linux software.
• Review code and system designs, identify vulnerabilities, and guide remediation.
• Define technical requirements, architectures, interfaces, implementation guides, and test plans.
• Partner with the Security organization to assess and address risks across the vehicle fleet.
• Build and maintain security tooling, libraries, controls, and instrumentation.
• Support engineering teams and penetration-testing engagements as a security point of contact.

Requirements

• Proven experience designing and delivering security systems for connected Linux-based embedded devices.
• Hands-on experience incorporating hardware-backed security into production systems, including HSMs, TrustZone, secure boot, signed updates, and key management.
• Understanding of cryptography fundamentals and public-key infrastructure.
• System-level development experience with kernels, bootloaders, or embedded operating systems.
• Hands-on programming experience with Python, C++, C, or Go.
• Ability to communicate technical recommendations to engineers, non-engineering partners, and leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience with Yocto, QNX or another RTOS, containers, secrets management, MISRA, or vulnerability management.
• Contributions to the security community.
