Data Engineer (Blockchain)

Location: Global and remote-based; some working-hours overlap with Eastern Standard Time (EST) is requested. Remote U.S. locations listed for compensation include Charlotte, Las Vegas, and Phoenix.

Annual cash compensation for remote U.S. locations: $129,000–$304,000, plus long-term incentives and comprehensive benefits.

What you will do

• Build scalable data pipelines and models supporting benchmarking, monitoring, analytics, and downstream data access.
• Improve benchmark accuracy and maintain 99.99% ingestion uptime across critical datasets.
• Implement end-to-end observability for data freshness, completeness, and accuracy.
• Route actionable alerts to owners to reduce noise and accelerate issue resolution.
• Enable rapid delivery of new data methodologies for emerging products and asset coverage.
• Provide structured datasets for modeling, analytics, and decision-making across teams.

Requirements

• Experience building scalable analytical data models and pipelines with SQL and Python.
• Experience with blockchain or traditional financial market data, with a clear understanding of at least one domain.
• Experience defining metrics for complex systems, including data quality and system performance.
• Experience building and maintaining pipelines for large-scale time-series or asynchronous datasets.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, partitioning, and performance optimization in analytical systems.
• Experience implementing data quality checks for freshness, completeness, and accuracy.

Nice to have

• Experience with real-time or streaming systems such as Flink, Beam, or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with order books, trade data, and financial aggregation methodologies.
• Understanding of decentralized exchanges and onchain data sourcing and structuring.
• Background in quantitative statistics, investment, trading, or market data environments.
• Experience deriving reliable analytical outputs from noisy, multi-source datasets.
