LATAM Trade Operations Lead

Location: Hybrid role based in Bogotá, Colombia, or São Paulo, Brazil; up to 25–30% regional and international travel.

Johnson & Johnson MedTech develops healthcare and medical device solutions, with this position supporting the DePuy Synthes orthopaedics business.

What you will do

• Lead trade compliance, customs, import/export operations, and documentation across Latin America.
• Optimize inbound and outbound transportation flows from manufacturing sites and regional hubs to distribution centers, hospitals, and distributors.
• Manage freight forwarders, customs brokers, logistics providers, and regional Control Tower partners through service metrics and improvement programs.
• Monitor transportation reliability, cost, productivity, customs clearance, and audit-readiness metrics.
• Support product launches, manufacturing network changes, supply chain transformations, and transportation setup.
• Partner with supply chain, quality, finance, legal, distribution, and planning stakeholders to resolve issues and align regional decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, International Trade, or a related field.
• 6–8 years of progressive experience in supply chain, transportation, trade compliance, logistics, or related operations.
• Strong knowledge of international trade, customs regulations, and import/export operations in Latin America.
• Experience with transportation planning, carrier and logistics-provider management, control-tower operating models, budgeting, and cost analysis.
• Experience working with global stakeholders in a matrixed, multinational organization and managing complex operational risks.
• English required; Portuguese and/or Spanish strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or MBA.
• Experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or other regulated industries.
• Experience with trade systems, transportation management systems, ERP platforms, trade automation, customs audits, or regulatory inspections.
• Lean or continuous improvement certification and trade compliance or customs certification.
• Awareness of artificial intelligence concepts, responsible AI use, and effective prompt generation.
