Senior Director, Indigenous Relations & Reconciliation (Indigenous inclusion and reconciliation): Leading CIBC’s enterprise strategy, multi-year plans, and measurable initiatives that strengthen Indigenous representation, talent development, cultural competency, and community relationships with an accent on strategic execution, stakeholder engagement, and governance. Focus on embedding reconciliation priorities into workforce and talent strategies, building partnerships with Indigenous communities and organizations, and measuring enterprise outcomes.
Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid arrangement with 1–3 days per week on-site

What you will do
- Lead the enterprise Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation strategy, roadmap, annual priorities, implementation plans, and success measures.
- Drive Indigenous inclusion and reconciliation initiatives across business units, lines of business, and corporate functions.
- Advise senior leaders, Human Resources partners, and stakeholders on workforce strategies, talent practices, succession planning, and change initiatives.
- Build partnerships with Indigenous employees, communities, advisory groups, internal people networks, and external organizations.
- Direct data collection, benchmarking, performance measurement, governance reporting, and audit readiness, including support for Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team in an inclusive and accountable environment.
Requirements
- Experience in Indigenous inclusion, reconciliation, human resources, talent strategy, or related enterprise initiatives.
- Experience influencing senior leaders and cross-functional partners in a large, complex organization.
- Strong strategic planning skills with the ability to translate long-term priorities into measurable action plans.
- Comfort using insights, benchmarking, and performance measures to inform enterprise decisions.
- Degree or diploma in a relevant field, or equivalent experience in Indigenous relations, inclusion, Human Resources, or talent strategy.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada and, where applicable, a valid work or study permit.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting external accreditation, enterprise reporting, or Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action planning.
