TL;DR
Co-Op, Bioanalytical and Molecular Assays (LC-MS/MS): Supporting laboratory-based bioanalytical LC-MS/MS activities for clinical programs with an accent on biological sample preparation, method development, data processing, and regulated documentation. Focus on evaluating assay performance, troubleshooting chromatography and instrumentation issues, and maintaining data integrity in a supervised laboratory environment.

Location: Norwood, Massachusetts, United States; 70% in-office work model. The program runs from January 18, 2027 through June 25, 2027, and applicants must be available for the full duration. Only U.S. persons are eligible due to U.S. export control requirements; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $20.00–$60.00 per hour, with possible discretionary bonus, incentive compensation, or equity subject to eligibility.

What you will do

  • Support LC-MS/MS method development, optimization, and analysis of clinical study samples.
  • Prepare biological samples using protein precipitation, solid-phase extraction, liquid-liquid extraction, enzymatic digestion, and related workflows.
  • Prepare calibration standards, quality controls, reagents, buffers, and study samples.
  • Set up instruments, load samples, prepare sequences, process data, and review results using SCIEX platforms and Thermo Scientific Xcalibur.
  • Track samples, manage runs, and maintain study documentation in Watson LIMS, ELN, and other laboratory systems.
  • Evaluate assay performance, troubleshoot basic laboratory issues, maintain equipment and supplies, and communicate experimental results.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a BS or MS degree in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, analytical chemistry, biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Prior laboratory experience through coursework, academic research, an internship, or a co-op.
  • Interest in bioanalytical chemistry, mass spectrometry, and pharmaceutical or biotechnology research.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and work collaboratively in a laboratory environment.
  • Must qualify as a U.S. person under U.S. export control laws; non-U.S. persons cannot be sponsored for an export control license.

Nice to have

  • Experience with biological sample preparation.
  • Familiarity with SCIEX software, Thermo Scientific Xcalibur, Watson LIMS, ELN, or similar laboratory data systems.
  • Basic understanding of chromatography, mass spectrometry, or quantitative analytical techniques.
