A&P Mechanic I (Aerospace)

Location: Dayton, Ohio, United States; regular travel to customer locations and work in office and field environments may be required.

What you will do

• Assist with scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, repairs, inspections, and component checks.
• Shadow experienced mechanics and execute routine maintenance tasks under supervision.
• Document maintenance activities and follow applicable aviation standards and safety procedures.
• Read and apply technical manuals, schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and related publications.
• Maintain an organized work area and participate in training and development programs.
• Travel frequently to customer locations, sometimes on short notice, and support different shifts, overtime, or weekends as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and 0–1 years of relevant experience.
• Active, current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification with no prior FAA violations.
• Ability to pass written, oral, practical, and Class 3 physical assessments, including a hearing test.
• Own tools in good working order and reliable transportation to and from work locations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, work at heights and in confined spaces, and operate in noisy or potentially hazardous environments.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Associate’s degree in Aviation Maintenance or a related field.
• Familiarity with common aircraft models, FAA repair stations, or quality assurance.
• Experience with FAR/DFARS or the aerospace, defense, Department of Defense, or U.S. military sectors.
• Basic problem-solving skills.
