Multimedia Journalist

Location: Fresno, California, United States; onsite

Salary: $57,000–$60,000 annually

What you will do

• Generate story ideas and develop enterprising stories and sweeps series.
• Gather information, conduct interviews, shoot video, produce, report, and edit assigned stories.
• Present clear, concise, and objective reports and establish live shots as needed.
• Publish videos, photos, and stories to the website, Facebook, and other social media platforms.
• Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, government officials, local authorities, and other news contacts.
• Work independently in the field and maintain awareness of local, state, and national news.

Requirements

• At least one year of newsroom experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Degree in communications, journalism, television broadcasting, or a related field preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal Spanish and English required.
• Advanced knowledge of field cameras, production equipment, and editing systems.
• Ability to use newsroom computer systems and applications; knowledge of iNews, Avid, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, and file-sharing systems preferred.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, stand or move for up to eight hours, and lift up to 30 pounds.
