What you will do

• Create original enterprise stories for broadcast, digital, streaming, and social platforms.
• Pitch and develop stories reflecting Houston’s diverse communities and perspectives.
• Write, shoot, edit, and present content across multiple platforms.
• Capture video and photography using sequencing and visual storytelling to increase audience engagement.
• Own stories from concept through execution and communicate story direction with producers and newsroom managers.
• Experiment with creative, non-traditional storytelling while following editorial standards and journalistic integrity guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field.
• At least three years of on-air reporting experience.
• Strong photography, videography, shooting, editing, and visual storytelling skills, supported by a portfolio.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a confident on-air presence and ability to ad-lib.
• Ability to generate original multi-platform story ideas, manage deadlines, and handle multiple projects.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and flexibility to work mornings, nights, and weekends.
