Network Engineer

Location: Hybrid; onsite twice a week in Arlington, Virginia. Applicants must be based within a 1–2 hour commutable distance in the National Capital Region. U.S. citizenship and DHS Public Trust EOD clearance are required.

Salary: $115,000–$135,000 per year

What you will do

• Design resilient LAN and WAN architectures and network pathways for high-speed data transmission and operational traffic spikes.
• Implement quality-of-service policies, bandwidth controls, encryption, firewall protections, zero-trust access, and VLAN segmentation.
• Configure and maintain routers, switches, dedicated circuits, internet gateways, and high-density Wi-Fi networks.
• Monitor bandwidth utilization, port status, and overall network health across on-premises, virtualized, and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with vendors and internet service providers to resolve complex routing issues, plan upgrades, and integrate new hardware.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional IT experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist or an equivalent professional networking certification; Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional is preferred.
• Experience securing edge and IoT network devices and enterprise networks.
• Experience with data-center cross-connects and interconnects, including carrier meets, cloud on-ramps, and data-center peering.
• U.S. citizenship and DHS Public Trust EOD clearance required; Secret Clearance or above preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with Mist, Meraki, cellular private networks, Azure networking, hyperconverged networking, or Azure Local.
• Storage administration experience, including tape-based storage.
• Experience with identity management and incident response activities.
