Implementation Consultant (GIS)

Location: Hybrid role based in the Long Eaton office 50% of the time and working from home 50% of the time, with occasional site visits. Pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK is required.

What you will do

• Install, configure, maintain, and improve GIS software, products, systems, and services.
• Provide technical support to customers, diagnose complex issues, and deliver proactive solutions.
• Deliver GIS consultancy, including creating, maintaining, and administering customer databases on-site and in the cloud.
• Perform database administration, including backups, monitoring, alerts, and data recovery.
• Create technical documentation, deliver online and on-premises training, and provide internal and external database support.
• Collaborate with customers, engineering teams, and other technical teams to resolve enquiries and improve service delivery.

Requirements

• Background in software implementation and relevant professional experience.
• Experience providing technical customer support across multiple products and working in a service desk environment.
• Experience escalating and handing off complex issues to technical teams and management.
• Experience supporting customers across multiple locations and managing several customer problems simultaneously.
• Good knowledge of relational database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle.
• Pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK, with documentary evidence required.

Nice to have

• Experience working with GIS systems or geospatial data.
• Experience working with IIS.
• Experience with control room software such as CAD or ICCS.
• Strong communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in geospatial technologies and willingness to learn and develop.
