KABC General Assignment Reporter (As-Needed)

Location: On-site in Glendale, California, United States

Salary: $47.75 per hour, subject to the SAG-AFTRA Collective Bargaining Agreement and applicable factors.

The role is part of ABC Owned TV Stations and supports ABC7 Los Angeles news coverage.

What you will do

• Create distinctive, shareable stories for television, digital, social, and streaming platforms.
• Cover major stories and explain their impact on local communities.
• Report live or on tape accurately and fairly.
• Handle breaking news from the field or studio and deliver engaging live shots.
• Collaborate on content development and new story ideas.

Requirements

• Multiple-market reporting experience.
• Strong journalism, storytelling, and content-creation skills.
• Ability to work accurately under deadline pressure.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Availability for a flexible schedule including early mornings, late nights, and weekends.
• Ability to work on-site on an ongoing basis in Glendale, California.

Nice to have

• Experience with Adobe Premiere.
• Experience shooting with a phone or small camera.
• Local news anchoring or fill-in anchoring experience.
• Local news weather forecasting and anchoring experience.
• Bilingual abilities.
