KABC-TV (ABC7) Special Projects & Morning News Intern, Spring 2027

Location: Glendale, California, United States. Full availability is required Monday through Friday, 4am–12pm PT, with reliable transportation and personal housing in the Glendale area.

Salary: $18.47 per hour.

Disney Entertainment Television operates ABC7, a local television news and streaming organization focused on daily news production and storytelling.

What you will do

• Coordinate guest appearances for morning broadcasts and streaming newscasts, including arrivals, studio setup, and logistics.
• Support producers, anchors, and the morning news team with daily production and newsroom operations.
• Assist with social media content creation and monitor platforms for consumer, entertainment, and investigative story ideas.
• Research, pitch, and develop daily and long-form stories with the Special Projects team.
• Log interviews and identify key soundbites for broadcast, digital, and streaming content.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class at the time of application, or participating in a Disney College Program or internship.
• Must be at least 18 years old and possess unrestricted work authorization.
• Basic knowledge of television production and newsroom workflows.
• Familiarity with major social media platforms, digital content trends, and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Outlook and Teams.
• Strong attention to detail, multitasking ability, and reliable availability for 40 hours per week throughout the internship.

Nice to have

• Academic or internship experience in journalism, television, news, new media production, or television news script writing.
• Coursework in producing, writing, or editing.
• Junior or senior year of college.
