Focus on integrating CPU, memory, storage, networking, and rack-scale hardware, solving cross-layer performance and reliability problems, and supporting semiconductor manufacturing systems at production scale.

Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States; primary location is USA-MI-Ann Arbor-hirify.global.

Base pay range: $105,900.00–$155,300.00 annually.

Company

hirify.global develops inspection tools, metrology systems, process solutions, and computational analytics for semiconductor manufacturing and electronics production.

What you will do

  • Design, develop, and optimize HPC software for large-scale Linux clusters, including distributed, parallel, multithreaded, MPI, and GPU-accelerated workloads.
  • Optimize CPU, memory, storage, and network performance and power utilization across throughput, latency, and scaling requirements.
  • Develop system-level tooling for cluster bring-up, diagnostics, monitoring, component power usage, and health checks.
  • Collaborate with algorithms, software, hardware, and systems teams to define HPC node, storage, interconnect, and workload requirements.
  • Participate in hardware/software debugging, performance analysis, stability investigations, failure analysis, and rack-scale platform design reviews.
  • Document software and system architecture, deployment flows, performance assumptions, and infrastructure best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong experience developing HPC or systems software on Linux.
  • Proficiency in Java, C++, or another system-level or performance-oriented language.
  • Hands-on experience with MPI, OpenMP, multithreading, and parallel computing.
  • Understanding of CPUs, memory hierarchies, storage, Ethernet or InfiniBand networking, PCIe, NUMA, and network topology.
  • Experience with clusters, servers, or rack-scale systems and strong debugging skills across software, operating system, and hardware boundaries.

Nice to have

  • GPU computing experience with CUDA, ROCm, or an equivalent technology.
  • Experience with Docker, Singularity/Apptainer, or Kubernetes in HPC environments.
  • Familiarity with high-speed interconnects, storage architectures, performance benchmarking, and rack integration.
  • Experience in semiconductor, manufacturing, or high-reliability systems environments.
  • Knowledge of system reliability, MTBF/MTBA, and failure modes in large compute installations.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work on mission-critical HPC platforms used in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with experts across algorithms, hardware, systems, and operations.
  • Medical, dental, vision, life, and other voluntary benefits.
  • 401(k) with company matching, employee stock purchase program, tuition reimbursement, and student debt assistance.
  • Paid time off, company holidays, family care and bonding leave, wellness benefits, and career development programs.
