Principal Solutions Architect (Big Data)

Location: United States; hybrid role requiring residence in or near a designated collaboration hub: Costa Mesa, San Jose, Allen, Austin, Franklin, New York, Schaumburg, Washington, Atlanta, Boston, or Seattle.

Salary: $137,102–$246,784

What you will do

• Define end-to-end architecture for large-scale data platforms and distributed systems.
• Design and develop automated custom data pipelines using Apache Spark, Trino, or similar Big Data technologies.
• Establish architecture practices for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and data usage.
• Improve performance, scalability, resiliency, and cost efficiency across data platforms.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Security, Cloud, and Architecture teams to modernize legacy workflows and develop technical solutions.
• Lead architecture reviews, resolve cross-team technical decisions, define data governance and observability practices, and mentor architects and engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience; a Master's degree is preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or technology architecture.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Big Data technologies and large-scale distributed data processing.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale data platforms, distributed systems, and automated data pipelines.
• Experience with cloud environments and expertise in Python, Java, Scala, or SQL.
• Must reside in or near one of the designated US collaboration hubs.
