Intern, Software Engineer

Salary: $29–$53.50 per hour in applicable locations, including New Jersey

What you will do

• Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical concepts to software development.
• Develop and evaluate hardware-software interfaces and operational performance requirements with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Participate in requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and testing of embedded software for real-time tactical radio control.
• Create software test procedures, programs, and technical documentation.
• Use modeling tools to establish operating data, conduct experiments, and evaluate results.
• Participate in peer reviews and track and repair software defects.

Requirements

• Must be pursuing a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, wireless engineering, information security, mathematics, digital arts and sciences, or a related field at an accredited university.
• Experience or coursework with one or more programming languages such as C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, or Python.
• Knowledge of software development on Windows, Linux, mobile platforms, or embedded real-time operating systems.
• Interest or experience in embedded systems, real-time controls, wireless systems, software security, robotics, or related engineering areas.
• Many positions may require the ability to obtain a security clearance; security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.

Nice to have

• Experience with Qt, .NET, Unix, SOA, RTOS, Android, Hadoop, JEE, OOA/OOD, or wireless technologies.
