Telecom Climber

Location: Field-based across South London and South West London, covering areas south of the River Thames within the M25, with particular interest in candidates around Croydon.

What you will do

• Install, commission and maintain telecoms network equipment, products and services.
• Work with mobile networks, transmission systems, microwave radio, fibre and copper infrastructure, power systems and customer networking equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve faults while minimising disruption to customers and network services.
• Climb towers and work at height on network infrastructure while maintaining safety and health standards.
• Collaborate with field delivery teams, network operations centres, project teams, vendors, suppliers and business customers.
• Participate in a 24/7 callout rota or shift patterns and travel to sites as required.

Requirements

• Qualification in telecoms or electronics, or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
• Experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting telecoms and networking technologies.
• Knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, ADVA, DWDM, Ethernet, 3G/4G/5G networks, microwave radio, power systems, fibre and copper cabling.
• Confidence working outdoors in a physically active role involving climbing, lifting and operating at height.
• Full UK/EU Category B driving licence required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SC Security Clearance, Advanced Climber/Tower Rescue certification and required health assessments.

Nice to have

• HND, degree or technical certifications such as Cisco CCNA or CCNP.
• Experience with wireless networking, LAN/Wi-Fi environments or unified communications solutions.
