QA Automation Engineer (AI)

Location: Bucharest, Romania; hybrid workplace

What you will do

• Develop and maintain automated tests for software applications using Java and suitable automation frameworks.
• Test REST APIs, JSON payloads, web services, and database interactions.
• Investigate defects, analyze logs, troubleshoot application issues, and document findings.
• Work with version control, test management tools, and CI/CD processes.
• Use AI tools responsibly to improve productivity, test coverage, troubleshooting, and documentation.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in software development, software testing, or quality assurance.
• Good knowledge of Java and basic knowledge of software testing concepts, defect lifecycles, SQL, and databases.
• Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, web services, and basic microservices architecture.
• Experience with Git or similar version control systems and good English communication skills.
• Analytical and troubleshooting skills, structured issue investigation, ownership, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
• Availability for a hybrid role in Bucharest, Romania.

Nice to have

• Experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, REST Assured, Postman, JUnit, or TestNG.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery, Jira, Zephyr, Xray, CI/CD tools, and log analysis.
• Experience in banking, payments, or other regulated environments.
• Previous use of AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, or ChatGPT for coding, testing, debugging, or documentation.
