Senior Java QA Automation Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote within Ukraine, Bulgaria, Poland, or Romania

What you will do

• Maintain, enhance, and refactor Java automation frameworks using JUnit5, Playwright, and Retrofit.
• Research and implement AI coding assistants and agentic workflows, including Cursor and Claude Code.
• Use AI during code reviews to identify security flaws, edge cases, and design-pattern violations.
• Integrate AI-powered root-cause analysis and self-healing mechanisms into GitHub Actions and Docker pipelines.
• Use AI agents to plan and execute library upgrades, code restructuring, and other technical-debt migrations.
• Mentor engineers on prompt engineering and maintain shared AI instructions such as .cursorrules and CLAUDE.md.

Requirements

• Extensive full-time experience in Java automation with Java 8+ and strong knowledge of software testing theory, strategies, and industry standards.
• Expertise in building and maintaining automation frameworks with Playwright, RestAssured, Retrofit, and Appium.
• Experience with API automation, OpenAPI and JSON Schema validation, and SQL/NoSQL database testing.
• Practical knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, HTML, CSS, DOM, XPath, CSS selectors, and browser DevTools.
• Experience creating test documentation, reports, and testing strategies, including use of AI tools.
• Professional English proficiency is required. Advanced AI-augmented engineering and prompt-engineering skills are expected.
