Location: Based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, as part of the legal team

What you will do
- Lead and continuously develop the data protection and privacy program across business units and products.
- Advise on policies and standards covering data access, classification, quality, and lifecycle management.
- Engage directly with data protection authorities and maintain records demonstrating GDPR compliance.
- Organise company-wide data protection training and awareness activities.
- Assess the privacy implications of new technologies, proof of concepts, ecommerce initiatives, and AI projects.
- Develop privacy-preserving approaches for structured, unstructured, transactional, and real-time data, including breach notification support.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with a law degree and at least 7 years of data protection experience.
- At least 5 years of data protection experience within the EU is mandatory.
- Five or more years of experience in the Dutch market is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience engaging directly with data protection authorities and supporting regulated organisations, ideally in technology or ecommerce.
- Experience managing compliance projects, frameworks, teams, internal and external resources, and training programmes.
- Knowledge of IT security and data analysis methodologies, with the ability to advise on complex legal, regulatory, and business issues under time pressure.
Nice to have
- Experience in technology, ecommerce, or another regulated data-driven business.
- Strong knowledge of emerging technologies and their social and economic impact.
