Head of Management Accounts

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid model with a minimum of 60% office attendance over a 12-week period.

Salary: £100,000–£110,000 plus bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the Financial Control team through two Senior Finance Managers, coaching, delegating, and maintaining high delivery standards.
• Own the quality and integrity of management accounts, month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, working capital analysis, and audit-ready reporting.
• Provide technical expertise on IFRS, accounting policy judgements, external reporting, internal controls, and listed-company governance.
• Lead cross-functional projects with Legal, Commercial, Product, and Technology, turning complex problems into documented plans.
• Partner with FP&A on cost budgeting and support commercial decision-making through finance insight and challenge.
• Deputise for the Group Financial Controller and represent Financial Control at key business forums.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent certification.
• Significant post-qualification experience managing month-end, balance sheet, reconciliation, and working capital processes in a complex business.
• Experience managing and developing senior finance managers or teams through delegation, performance management, and capability building.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, listed-company governance, and accounting policy judgements.
• Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills, including working with senior non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience with ERP platforms or finance automation tools.
