Master Thesis (d/f/m) "Materials & Processes Characterization for Future Aircraft" (CFRP)

Location: Physically based in Bremen, Germany; full-time, 6-month thesis starting as soon as possible.

hirify.global Defence and Space supports aerospace research and the development of next-generation single-aisle aircraft through materials and processes research.

What you will do

• Manage the master thesis as a project with guidance from the project team.
• Review existing research on materials, processes, and test methods for key CFRP surface properties.
• Research novel surface preparation processes for CFRP before paint application.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and deliver test plans, interim reports, and presentations on time and to the required quality.
• Evaluate test results, draw conclusions, and contribute to an international project team.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled full-time in Materials Science or an equivalent field.
• Extensive knowledge of CFRP and related manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of surface technology, pre-treatment, and paint application processes.
• Initial experience with surface characterization methods for CFRP and paints.
• Fluent English is required.
• Creativity, out-of-the-box thinking, and project management experience.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in German.
