Senior Scientist - Structural Biology (m/f/d) (X-ray Crystallography)

hirify.global's Structural Biology group supports early-stage drug discovery projects in collaboration with Crelux and client teams.

What you will do

• Plan and run structural biology client projects focused on structure-based drug design.
• Plan crystallization and data collection experiments for a broad range of target classes.
• Process X-ray crystallography data and determine protein-ligand crystal structures.
• Communicate structural biology results to internal, external, and interdisciplinary project teams.
• Document and evaluate scientific protocols and results while meeting project timelines.
• Maintain current knowledge of advances in structural biology.

Requirements

• PhD in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or a related subject.
• Practical and theoretical knowledge of construct design, crystallization, and structure determination.
• Experience with Global Phasing, CCP4, XDS, PyMOL, and ChimeraX running on Linux.
• Strong planning, documentation, interpersonal, and interdisciplinary communication skills.
• Fluent spoken and written English required; German is ideally desirable.

Nice to have

• Experience with cryo-electron microscopy, crystallographic fragment screening, or protein design.
• Programming experience with Bash and Python.
• Experience with SQL/MariaDB databases or Linux system administration.
