Physicist / Engineer (m/f/d) Particle Beam Technology / Semiconductor Control

Location: Heimstetten near Munich, Germany; possibility to work remotely. Travel required approximately 10% of the time. Relocation is not eligible.

Salary: €60,000–€82,500 per year, with potential bonus and stock award compensation.

What you will do

• Develop novel particle beam systems for semiconductor inspection and metrology.
• Define system requirements and specifications and troubleshoot system problems.
• Plan and conduct laboratory tests of new technologies on prototypes.
• Collect and analyze data and design statistically valid experiments.
• Evaluate new technologies and develop innovative technical solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary international R&D teams, guide less experienced physicists, and support manufacturing and supplier performance.

Requirements

• Scientific or technical degree, preferably a doctorate in physics or a comparable discipline such as physical technology or optics.
• Practical experience designing, constructing, and operating particle beam systems.
• Knowledge of electron microscopy, including SEM/TEM, and electron optics.
• Knowledge of ultra-high vacuum and high-voltage technology is desirable.
• Systematic, analytical, goal-oriented working style and readiness for interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Ability to work closely with specialist departments and international R&D colleagues.
