Java Software Engineer (Cambridge)

What you will do

• Develop Java, SQL, and PL/SQL changes for an ecommerce payments gateway.
• Analyze payment-processing processes, production data, product code, and industry specifications to scope and specify work.
• Deliver complex development tasks within a cross-functional team using the SAFe framework.
• Review code as an authorized gatekeeper and pair with engineers to improve code quality.
• Collaborate with test engineers on coverage and contribute to automated integration and system testing.
• Design rollout and monitoring strategies and provide occasional out-of-hours support for release deployments.

Requirements

• Experience delivering software in a quality-critical industry.
• Strong Java knowledge and experience solving complex business problems with software.
• Experience working with large databases, preferably SQL-based Oracle or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with large codebases, version control systems, and Linux in development and production environments.

Nice to have

• Financial services industry knowledge.
• Experience with Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or other agile methodologies.
• Experience with AWS cloud technologies and design patterns.
• Understanding of enterprise compute, storage, and networking technologies.
