AI Security Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Melbourn, Royston, UK, with a minimum of 2 office days per week. UK security clearance may be required; some roles require British citizenship or 5 years of continuous UK residency.

What you will do

• Define requirements, evaluate vendors, run proofs of concept, and select AI security tools based on measurable evidence.
• Deploy and integrate AI security tooling with SIEM, SOAR, EDR, identity, and other existing security platforms.
• Assess AI-specific threats including prompt injection, data and model poisoning, data leakage, model theft, malicious model files, agent misuse, and shadow AI.
• Apply AI to vulnerability prioritisation, secure code review, anomaly detection, alert triage, threat hunting, investigations, and incident response.
• Conduct or oversee adversarial testing and red teaming for AI systems, including RAG applications and agent permissions.
• Translate AI security frameworks and standards into technical controls, evidence, threat models, and assurance activities.

Requirements

• Background in security engineering, cloud security, security architecture, or SOC engineering.
• Practical understanding of ML, LLMs, models, RAG pipelines, and AI agents.
• Reasonable Python or scripting skills and experience with cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications and MITRE ATLAS.
• Ability to explain AI risks and capabilities clearly to non-specialist decision-makers.
• Eligibility for UK background checks and, where applicable, security clearance; some clearances require British citizenship or 5 years of continuous UK residency.
