Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer (Opto-Mechanical/Thermal Systems)

Location: Milpitas, California, USA; full-time onsite required

What you will do

• Design, prototype, and build next-generation opto-mechanical assemblies for broadband plasma wafer inspection systems.
• Use CAD and simulation tools, including Creo and ANSYS, to develop and implement mechanical designs.
• Collaborate with systems, optical, electrical, and software engineering teams on product development.
• Work with manufacturing and support organizations to enable product launches and resolve product issues.
• Develop designs from requirements through production release.

Requirements

• Doctorate with 3 years of related experience, a master’s degree with 6 years of related experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related experience.
• Successful experience with opto-mechanical design from requirements through production release.
• CAD experience is required; Creo experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of tolerance analysis, optical mounting, alignment and adjustment strategies, lifetime estimation, and actuator selection.
• Experience with heat-transfer and structural simulations is strongly preferred.
• Must be available for full-time onsite work in Milpitas, California.
