Hardware NPI / Debug Engineer (AI Data Center)

Location: Santa Clara, CA, USA. The role requires travel to contract manufacturing sites in Mexico, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

Base salary: $120,000–$165,000 per year, excluding discretionary bonuses and equity.

What you will do

• Lead early prototype builds in partnership with hardware, manufacturing, and test engineering teams.
• Support the maturation of designs and manufacturing processes for field-trial-ready networking hardware.
• Drive Design for Excellence activities across manufacturing, test, quality, and reliability through schematic and layout reviews.
• Perform system-level debugging, root-cause analysis, repairs, and technical diagnostics.
• Collaborate with engineering and platform design teams to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
• Mentor contract manufacturing partners and train factory-level technical staff.

Requirements

• BSEE degree required; MSEE strongly preferred.
• 3–7 years of experience in hardware, NPI, sustaining, or test engineering in networking, AI, GPU, or computing industries.
• Expertise in system-level debugging, root-cause analysis, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Ability to interpret schematics, board layouts, mechanical drawings, datasheets, command-line logs, and diagnostics.
• Knowledge of IPC and JEDEC standards, VIPPO and backdrill structures, and electromechanical systems.
• English fluency is required; passport readiness and ability to travel to Mexico, Malaysia, and Vietnam are required.
