Algorithm Engineer (Deep Learning)

Location: Milpitas, California, United States; travel required up to 10%

Base pay: $136,300–$199,900 annually

What you will do

• Develop deep learning, foundation model, and GenAI solutions for image processing, computer vision, and semiconductor process control.
• Translate product feature requirements and domain problems into modeling requirements and architectures.
• Build prototypes, train and tune models, and evaluate performance against defined metrics.
• Design and optimize model architectures, including efficient backbones, new modules, and distillation techniques.
• Optimize model throughput, latency, cost, and deployment efficiency using mixed- and low-precision methods such as FP16 and FP8.
• Collaborate with peers and present technical concepts, ideas, and results.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field, or a master’s degree with 3 years of related experience.
• Experience applying deep learning or GenAI to real-world problems with impactful results.
• In-depth experience developing and optimizing deep learning, Vision Foundation Models, or Vision Language Models for computer vision, image processing, robotics, NLP, or equivalent applications.
• Experience with model optimization or distillation for mixed or reduced precision, including FP16 or FP8.
• Proficiency in Python and one additional language from C++, Java, Rust, or Go.
• Proficiency with at least one deep learning framework, such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX, plus evidence of expertise through publications, patents, or impactful open-source work.

Nice to have

• Experience with semiconductor process control.
• Experience with GenAI coding tools, vibe coding, or vibe engineering.
