Machine Learning Engineer (Computer Vision)

Location: Centreville, Virginia, or Minneapolis, Minnesota; on-site work and travel within the U.S. and internationally required

What you will do

• Develop computer vision and machine learning algorithms for real-time automated target recognition, including object detection, classification, localization, and tracking.
• Analyze visual imagery data to guide collection, labeling, dataset selection, and training of deep computer vision models.
• Design experiments, define objectives and metrics, evaluate algorithms, analyze errors, and optimize model performance on new data.
• Write and test software integrating machine learning algorithms into aircraft systems, autopilots, payloads, and other platforms.
• Support requirements gathering, algorithm design, prototyping, testing, evaluation, validation, and verification.
• Provide on-site support for experiments and fielded systems, including up to 25% domestic and international travel.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• An active Secret-level or higher Department of Defense security clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related science or engineering field, plus 2+ years of relevant machine learning or computer vision experience.
• 2–5 years of relevant computer vision experience and familiarity with Python, C/C++, Linux, OpenCV, scikit-learn, and pandas.
• Proficiency with a deep learning framework, preferably PyTorch, and familiarity with CUDA, JetPack, TensorRT, and deployment to NVIDIA GPUs.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex systems, perform algorithmic optimization, and analyze, visualize, and manipulate large datasets.

• Ability to work with defined requirements under moderate supervision in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
