Location: Tokyo, Japan, with the role based in Yokohama and hands-on work in vehicle workshops and labs. Hybrid working model with in-person collaboration and remote work. Relocation to Yokohama or Tokyo is supported, and visa sponsorship is available where applicable.

What you will do

  • Own robotaxi programs from vehicle and fleet readiness through launch and in-market scaling.
  • Manage dependencies, risks, trade-offs, and delivery plans across autonomy, vehicle software, hardware, operations, and safety.
  • Coordinate engineering, fleet operations, safety, and local partner teams, bridging global R&D with delivery in Japan.
  • Provide hands-on program support for robotaxi launches and in-market operations in Yokohama.
  • Support local vehicle hardware and software programs as the only TPM in Japan.
  • Run planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, reporting, and process improvements across multi-team programs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years leading complex, multi-team programs or an equivalent track record.
  • Strong technical understanding across software and hardware, with credibility in autonomy, vehicle software, and vehicle hardware environments.
  • Experience with planning, prioritisation, risk and dependency management, metrics, and structured execution.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, safety-critical environments and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong written and verbal communication across distributed teams, time zones, geographies, and cultures.
  • Comfort working hands-on with vehicles and operations in Japan and supporting a broad range of local programs.

Nice to have

  • Robotaxi, autonomous vehicle operations, fleet, mobility, ride-hailing, or automotive experience.
  • Experience launching or scaling an in-market service.
  • Exposure to machine learning, autonomy, compute-heavy, or safety-critical domains.
  • Japanese language skills or experience based in, or willing to relocate to, Yokohama or Tokyo.
  • Engineering or computer science degree, or professional engineering experience.
