Craft Apprenticeship - Maintenance (Mechanical or Electrical) (Aerospace)

Location: Broughton, United Kingdom; onsite practical training and work. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work in the United Kingdom.

Salary: £19,185 starting salary per year.

hirify.global is an aerospace company manufacturing aircraft, helicopters, defence, and space products, with the Broughton site focused on wing manufacturing for the A320, A330, and A350 families.

What you will do

• Complete a 36-month apprenticeship combining workplace training with academic study.
• Maintain production machinery, tooling, and industrial maintenance assets across the Broughton production areas.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs safely and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot automated manufacturing systems, multi-axis machining centres, and treatment plants.
• Diagnose faults in PLCs, computerised systems, robotic devices, and other specialist equipment.
• Work with experienced engineering and quality teams to support safe and efficient aircraft manufacturing.

Requirements

• Minimum of five GCSEs, including Grade B or 6 in Maths, Grade C or 4 in English Language, and the specified Science or Physics qualification.
• Two additional GCSEs at Grade C or 4, preferably in a practical or technical subject; equivalent or higher qualifications may be considered.
• Passion for learning, hands-on activities, teamwork, and problem-solving.
• Submit a CV with predicted or achieved grades and a cover letter explaining motivation for the chosen pathway and aviation industry.
• Current legal authorisation to work in the United Kingdom is required.
• Completion of BPSS screening is required; UK SC-level security clearance or Export Control approval may also be necessary depending on the role.

Nice to have

• Practical experience through DIY, building or repairing things, technical projects, model building, cooking, or other hands-on hobbies.
• Interest in mechanical or electrical maintenance and aircraft manufacturing.
