Craft Apprenticeship - Mechanical and Electrical (Aerospace Manufacturing)

Location: Filton, Bristol, United Kingdom. The apprenticeship includes regular onsite work at hirify.global Filton and becomes full-time onsite in the fourth year. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: £19,185 starting salary.

hirify.global Defence and Space operates the Filton plant, assembling A400M wings and equipped gear beams for the A350 aircraft.

What you will do

• Study toward an Engineering Technician Level 3 qualification and a Level 3 Diploma in Aerospace Manufacturing.
• Assemble and equip aircraft wing components and sub-assemblies.
• Perform drilling, reaming, countersinking, fastening, and sealing.
• Install fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Use automated drilling equipment and carry out system function testing.
• Work from manufacturing instructions and engineering drawings within operational teams.

Requirements

• Entry-level apprenticeship suitable for candidates beginning an aerospace manufacturing career.
• At least five GCSEs, including Maths at grade C/4 or above, English at grade C/4 or above, and three additional GCSEs at grade C/4 or above.
• Equivalent or higher qualifications may be considered for the additional three GCSEs, subject to validation.
• Comfort working at height and in confined spaces when required.
• Current legal authorisation to work in the United Kingdom is required.
• Successful candidates must complete BPSS screening and may require UK SC security clearance or Export Control approval.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience from DIY, building or repairing items, model-making, technology projects, baking, cooking, or other practical activities.
• A colour blindness test may be required.
