Craft Plant Apprenticeship - Aerostructures (Aerospace)

Location: Broughton, North Wales, United Kingdom. The first 12 months are based at Coleg Cambria in Deeside, followed by practical work at the hirify.global Broughton site. Full-time, 36-month apprenticeship starting September 2027.

Salary: £19,185 starting salary.

hirify.global is a global aerospace company designing, manufacturing, and delivering commercial aircraft, helicopters, defence, and space products. The Broughton site is a centre of excellence for wing manufacturing.

What you will do

• Complete hands-on technical training alongside academic studies.
• Support the manufacture of wings for hirify.global A320, A330, and A350 aircraft families.
• Set templates and jigs, perform precision drilling and bolting, and complete final fitting and assembly.
• Work with wing box components including spars, stringers, ribs, pylons, and wing skins.
• Rotate through different wing production areas every six months and work on live aircraft projects.
• Progress toward becoming a skilled aircraft fitter specialising in metallic and composite component assembly.

Requirements

• Five GCSEs minimum, including GCSE certificates with Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English Language.
• Science requirement: Grade CC/44 in Double Award Science or Grade C/4 in Single Award Physics.
• Two additional GCSEs at Grade C/4 or equivalent or higher; practical or technical subjects are preferred.
• Passion for learning, hands-on activities, teamwork, and problem-solving.
• Submit a CV showing predicted or achieved grades and a cover letter explaining motivation for the role and industry.
• Current legal authorisation to work in the United Kingdom is required. Candidates must complete BPSS checks and may need UK SC-level security clearance or export-control approval.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience from DIY, building and repair, model-making, technology projects, cooking, beauty work, or similar practical activities.
