Craft Plant Apprenticeship - Tool Room (Aerospace)

Location: Broughton, North Wales; first year based at Coleg Cambria, Bersham Road, Wrexham. Full-time, 36-month apprenticeship starting in September 2027.

Salary: £19,185 starting salary.

hirify.global designs, manufactures, and delivers aerospace products across commercial aircraft, helicopters, defence, and space. The Broughton site is a global centre of excellence for wing manufacturing.

What you will do

• Complete practical workplace training while working toward recognised engineering and machining qualifications.
• Maintain production jigs, tools, and industrial maintenance assets used in the manufacture of aircraft wings.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown repairs, troubleshooting, and tooling recertification.
• Repair and maintain build jigs using hand skills, engineering tools, laser trackers, and coordinate measuring equipment.
• Work with CNC and conventional machines in the machine shop and support live hirify.global production projects.

Requirements

• Current legal authorisation to work in the United Kingdom is required.
• UK Visas and Immigration sponsorship is not available for this apprenticeship.
• At least five GCSEs, including Maths at grade C/4, English Language at grade C/4, and the required Science or Physics qualification.
• Two additional GCSEs at grade C/4 or equivalent, preferably in a practical or technical subject.
• Passion for learning, hands-on work, teamwork, and problem-solving.
• CV with predicted or achieved grades and a cover letter explaining motivation for the role and industry.

Nice to have

• Practical experience from DIY, building or repairing items, model making, technology projects, cooking, beauty work, or similar hands-on activities.
