Software Engineer Intern (Java)

Location: Tel Aviv, Israel; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office

What you will do

• Develop software components and infrastructure supporting thousands of websites and more than 1.4B users across the open web.
• Build and maintain high-scale, real-time systems handling more than 500,000 requests per second and generating 100TB of new data daily.
• Collaborate with software engineers and product managers to design and deliver new features.
• Use CI/CD, A/B testing, and large-scale data to develop, test, and improve production systems.
• Work with Java, Spark, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, BigQuery, Airflow, and other data and infrastructure tools.
• Analyze system performance to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency.

Requirements

• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent education.
• Strong fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, systems, and multithreading.
• Programming experience in Java or another object-oriented programming language.
• Knowledge of SQL, data analysis, and Big Data concepts.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems through academic or project work.
• Experience with generative AI coding tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with Big Data technologies such as Spark or Kafka.
• Experience with cloud, containerization, or distributed systems technologies.
