Associate Producer (Political News)

Location: New York, NY; must be willing to work in New York and have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. The role requires Saturday–Sunday, 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., and Monday–Wednesday, 2:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. shifts, with flexibility for breaking news.

Salary: $75,000–$80,000 per year.

What you will do

• Identify compelling news moments, interviews, and segments for digital packaging.
• Pitch, produce, and edit original social-first video, social packages, and perspective content.
• Respond quickly to breaking news with accurate video content delivered on deadline.
• Write clear headlines, captions, and social copy.
• Create editorial graphics and photo posts for Instagram and other platforms.
• Collaborate with show producers, reporters, and the Digital team while curating content for the MS NOW homepage and app.

Requirements

• At least four years of experience in social media news production.
• Experience identifying and producing shareable or viral news and perspective content.
• Knowledge of social media platforms, their audiences, and current trends.
• Expertise with Adobe Premiere and experience producing vertical breaking-news video for social platforms.
• Proficiency with digital production equipment, including cameras and microphones.
• Unrestricted United States work authorization and willingness to work in New York, NY, including nontraditional shifts.
