Senior Data Scientist (Autonomous Driving)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, USA; hybrid working model with in-person collaboration in offices and remote work.

Salary: $209.7K–$240K annually.

hirify.global is building an AI platform for autonomous driving that enables vehicles to learn from real-world experience and adapt across vehicle platforms and operating environments.

What you will do

• Lead analysis of model and autonomous-vehicle performance data from simulations, offline evaluations, and on-road testing.
• Investigate release-test findings and determine whether offline tests should have identified the issues.
• Improve driving-performance metrics, test coverage, scoring logic, and evaluation workflows.
• Apply statistical methods to experiments and provide data-driven recommendations for promoting new driving models.
• Partner with Data Science, Validation, Product, and OEM stakeholders on evaluation methods, ground truth, and quality investigations.
• Document findings and implement durable improvements within a weekly model-release cadence.

Requirements

• Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to produce evidence-backed conclusions from ambiguous problems.
• Hands-on experience with ML evaluation data, driving-performance metrics, or complex test results at scale.
• Experience with A/B testing and experimentation, including confidence intervals, distributions, and sampling.
• Proficiency in Python or SQL and experience querying and analyzing large datasets.
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritize investigations, and communicate actionable recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience in autonomous driving, robotics, safety-critical ML systems, simulation-based testing, or evaluation methodology is beneficial.

Hiring process
