Director, Corporate Communications

Location: Washington, DC, United States

Annual salary: $180,000–$215,000, plus bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Own and execute proactive and reactive media relations strategies across trade, business, and national media.
• Develop thought leadership platforms, including bylines, op-eds, speaking engagements, awards, and rankings.
• Create press releases, media statements, briefing materials, and external narrative content.
• Manage media inquiries and build long-term relationships with reporters and editors.
• Partner with Communications, Investor Relations, and operating company communications leaders on enterprise-wide messaging.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive corporate communications or media relations experience.
• Experience leading media strategy at a publicly traded company or top-tier communications agency.
• Experience in a public, multi-industry, diversified industrial, life sciences, or healthcare company of comparable scale.
• Established relationships with reporters and editors covering life sciences, diagnostics, or industrial technology.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, media monitoring and distribution platforms such as Cision, Meltwater, and Business Wire, plus hands-on generative AI experience with tools such as Claude and Copilot.
