Aerodynamics Engineer (CFD)

Location: Waterloo, Wisconsin, United States; must work at the headquarters most days of the week. Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the Waterloo area.

What you will do

• Create, run, and post-process CFD models for aerodynamic, stability, and thermal analysis.
• Plan and lead wind tunnel, velodrome, track, and on-road testing.
• Perform multidisciplinary design optimization and provide engineering recommendations.
• Develop aerodynamic and environmental models, simulations, and code.
• Lead R&D and continuous-improvement projects for aerodynamics testing and simulation methods.
• Conduct fluid mechanics research and support technical materials for product launches, marketing, and media.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of industry experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of applicable industry experience.
• Experience with CFD codes, wind tunnel testing, and aerodynamic design.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate with diverse design groups, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Must live in or be willing to relocate to the Waterloo, Wisconsin area and work at the headquarters most days of the week.
• Travel is expected to be less than 10%.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or a related field.
• Linux and HPC computing experience.
• Experience with STAR-CCM+, parameterized optimization, vehicle simulation and dynamics, or external unsteady flows.
• Programming proficiency in Python, MATLAB, Java, or C++.
